VEL 38 RL CARBON TUBELESS DISC WHEELSET

The 38 RL Carbon Tubeless Disc Wheelset is Vel’s shallowest option, perfect for hilly routes and windy conditions where the rim’s depth means it won’t be pushed around by crosswinds. The Toray 24/30T carbon rim has an internal width of 20.3mm to allow any tyre to open up nicely and provide a cushioned, grippy ride whilst the 27.5mm external width gives a smooth interface between the rim and the tyre for improved airflow.

CNC machined aluminium Vel RE Center Lock hubs with 12mm thru-axles and sealed bearings ensure that the wheels track accurately and provide a great platform for predictable braking, with the 102T engagement ring adding snappy acceleration and responsiveness. Handbuilt using Pillar Wing PSR21 spokes in a two-cross pattern, the wheels are stiff with great power transfer, yet retain sufficient compliance for all-day riding.

The wheels are supplied with tubeless valves and as the tubeless tape is pre-fitted, making the conversion to totally tubeless tyre running is straightforward. Spare spokes are also supplied.
